Job Description

Switchboard OperatorLocation - SwanseaContract - Temporary, ongoingManpower is recruiting a Switchboard Operator to work for our NHS client. As the first point of contact for the service, operators are responsible for providing a responsive and efficient switchboard/information service 24/7 to all service users.Ability to speak Welsh at an intermediate level is essential.Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to policies and procedures
  • Understanding organisational functions and medical terminology
  • Responding to emergencies and alarms
  • Maintaining and updating call rotas and records
  • Testing emergency procedures and systems
  • Operating access control systems
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Educated to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent
  • Experience in a call handling role/fast-paced customer service environment
  • Knowledge of switchboard processes, policies, and information systems
  • NVQ in Customer Services or Call Handling (or willingness to undertake)
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills and clear speaking voice
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment with frequent interruptions and a high level of background noise
  • Ability to work unsupervised and under your own initiative
  • Friendly and helpful disposition
  • Ability to speak Welsh at an intermediate level (essential)
