A Vacancy at Swansea Bay University Health Board.We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our friendly and expanding Radiation Physics team in Swansea Bay University Health Board. You will have a good degree in a physical science or be a qualified diagnostic radiographer.We provide support and expert advice in diagnostic radiology physics, radiation protection, radioactive waste management, and radiation emergency planning to the Health Board and a number of other establishments throughout South-West Wales covering a population of approximately 950,000. We are one of the major radiation physics service providers in NHS Wales and form part of a large, modern and well-integrated Department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering.The successful applicant will arrange and deliver radiation environmental surveys and support the delivery of our X-ray equipment quality assurance and optimisation programme with the aim of assisting supported sites in meeting their statutory requirement to keep radiation doses to staff, patients and the public as low as reasonably practicable.You will be based at Singleton Hospital in Swansea which overlooks Swansea Bay and is close to the picturesque fishing village of Mumbles. The city is situated at the gateway to the Gower peninsula offering incredible views, unrivalled walking and some of the UKs best beaches.
