We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated clinical lead/ triage nurse to come and join our team of nurses in the Oncology Unit at Singleton Hospital.The aim of this post is to provide specialist Oncological/Haematological advice and management to patients with the aim of improving patient experience and care.This will be done by providing expert telephone assessment, which is clinically focused, to patients contacting the Cancer Centre with toxicities and symptoms caused by anti-cancer therapy or because of their disease.It will also include giving interim clinical advice and information to patients and/or others who may be with them regarding further action, treatment and care and referring a patient for further assessment as appropriate.The individual will direct the flow of emergency admissions into the Cancer Centre by liaising with clinicians, ward co-ordinators and operational managers and they will work in partnership with patients providing clear information during the assessment phase to promote participation in their care planning.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.For further details / informal visits contact:Rachel Smith, Ward ManagerRachel.Smith7@wales.nhs.uk / ext 35360
