Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist with experience in cancer services and aseptics to join our team.Singleton Hospital is a cancer centre providing services to the population of South West Wales. The cancer centre includes a radiotherapy department, oncology and haematology chemotherapy day units and a dedicated oncology/haematology ward. The post holder will work with other cancer services pharmacists to deliver and develop clinical pharmacy services to the cancer services department. This will include lead responsibility for one or more tumour sites, participation in pharmacist-led clinics, development and checking of chemotherapy protocols and clinical screening of chemotherapy prescriptions on the Chemocare prescribing system.The postholders will also work in our licensed aseptic unit which supports clinical pharmacy services by providing adult and neonatal TPN, cytotoxic reconstitution and CIVAS. Duties will include supervision and release of individually prepared and batch manufactured medicines.The post holder will also be expected to deliver education, training and development of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants providing clinical and technical pharmacy services.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.For further details / informal visits contact:Charlotte Jones, Senior Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technical ServicesCharlotte.Jones@wales.nhs.uk
