Job Description

Regional Quality Officer - West Midlands, East Midlands and LincolnshireLocation: Home worker, however, must be prepared to travel over a wide geographical area.Hours: 38 hours per weekContract: 2 years fixed term contractSalary: Circa £25,000Ambient Support is a registered UK charity with over 25 years experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health need and people with a learning disability.We have a fantastic new opportunity for you to join our developing Quality team in an exciting new role. Working closely with our Head of Quality, the Regional Quality Officer will play a significant role in improving the assurance provided to senior managers and Trustees. We are looking for our Quality Officer to have:Essential Qualification - Educated to A Level Standard or similarSkills

Essential Work Experience
  • Experience of quality assurance and improvement
  • Experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders including operational teams and people we support (service users)
  • Experience of coaching and developing staff teams in audit and action plan completion
  • Experience of working in the charitable sector, particularly within adult social care
  • Experience of working with data to evidence themes and trends
Understanding and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the adult social care sector and different types of services
  • Understanding of quality management
  • Good understanding of quality improvement methodology
Our Regional Quality Officer will carry out the following duties, with support and supervision from Head of Quality:
  • Provide assurance about quality and safety of care and support in the region
  • Develop a schedule of assurance activities across the region to provide an independent view of quality
  • Assess and analyse information from a range of sources in order to be effective in promptly identifying trends in respect of risks and concerns that may impact negatively on standards of quality and safety and indicate non-compliance.
  • Ensure that judgements made are based on corroborated evidence and analysis and maintain an audit trail of evidence assessed.
  • Report to the Head of Quality on progress and to highlight areas of risk and advise in respect of improvement action plans.
  • Devise, plan and deliver information sessions for appropriate staff on quality issues, learning and improvement
  • Report in an effective and focused manner, prepare and deliver presentations to key stakeholders and share information about progress in relation to compliance.
  • Support the integration of Quality Checker (our peer audit programme delivered by people we support) audits into the overall assurance system within the region
  • Work with local managers and teams to support an understanding of CQC inspections and Local Authority quality monitoring activity, and evidence collection for outstanding quality ratings
  • Provide independent investigation of serious incidents as requested by Head of Quality, as well as work with local managers to provide support to incident investigations
Service Development
  • Support quality assurance, compliance and quality improvement initiatives throughout the region and wider charity
  • Work with the Policy and Quality Officer to use evidence to support the development and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures across the organisation.
  • Work with the Quality team to develop and improve a set of audit tools
  • Act as a critical friend to regional operational teams providing advice and guidance on areas of improvement
  • To support stakeholders in their understanding of quality assurance, providing advice and guidance on audit, collection of evidence and use of audit tools
  • To support stakeholders in quality improvement work
  • To support future developments of the quality agenda
