Job Description

Stickee Technology is a fast-growing software firm, established in 2012, with 50 employees.We have an exciting opportunity for smart, innovative Senior and mid-level PHP Developers to join the team to work remotely (work from home) or in our Solihull office. You’ll be leading the development of exciting new web applications. This is a rare opportunity to work in a genuinely "entrepreneurial dev" environment.We build clever software for some of the world’s biggest companies. Apple, Vodafone, BT, Samsung, and Carphone Warehouse are among our clients. We are based in Solihull near Birmingham, but we’re open to candidates across the UK as for this role you can work remotely (work from home), or in the office, or a balance to suit you.About the role:As a PHP Software Developer, you will help us design, build, test and release cool things faster, better and smarter.

  • Leading the design & development of new and existing software products
  • Understanding, simplifying and solving complex business-requirements questions
  • Delivery of high-quality code & application-architecture solutions
  • Engaging with dev team colleagues and project stakeholders
  • Peer-reviewing your fellow developers work
  • Contributing to the evolution of our tech stack
    • Skills & ExperienceMust-have:
  • At least 5 years commercial experience in a PHP/Laravel/MySQL environment
  • Proven ability to design, build and deliver complex web applications to enterprise clients
  • Fluent git skills
  • Some knowledge of front-end JS frameworks, ideally Vue.js
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • A thorough understanding of the principles of Clean Code
    • Nice-to-have:
  • Working with very large data-sets
  • ElasticSearch (or other document-based database systems)
  • Web-scraping technologies & strategies
  • Docker
  • Puppeteer
  • Nginx / Apache / Linux administration
  • AWS (including EC2, S3, RDS, ElasticBeanstalk)
  • Other programming languages
  • Foreign language skills - especially reading ability in Spanish & other European languages, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, or Japanese.

    • This is a permanent, full-time position.Salary will be in the range £38,000 to £58,000, depending on experience. In addition, all our team members are eligible for an annual profit-share payout, work from home or in the office plus generous annual leave policies.
