Job Description

The challenge: to design and develop network infrastructure, acting as our resident expert. As a Network Architect, you’ll tackle business and technical challenges while working with teams across our organisation. What’s more, you can specialise in a focus area, but also gain exposure to a wide range of exciting technologies. A DAY IN THE LIFE What a normal day at work looks like for youAs a Network Architect, day to day, you’ll:

  • Provide technical leadership to the business on both corporate and customer network infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and implement processes, procedures, policies, and protocols for infrastructure management including core MPLS network.
  • Explore, assess, and share relevant knowledge on new and emerging technologies.
  • Promote and lead network programmability, automation and systems integration across infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of longterm end-to-end network architecture.
  • Lead network infrastructure development initiatives aimed at improving network stability and existing capabilities to deliver CaaS.
  • Work with appropriate teams to deliver internal network projects and minimise customer impact.
  • Mentor, develop and deliver training for colleagues and other technical teams in your subject matter
  • Deliver customer solutions across LAN and Wireless.
  • Work with presales on handover of HLD into deployment and creating LLD.
  • Attend customer meetings as a postsale delivery expert, supporting pre-sales with more detail for very large/valuable opportunities, and in post-sale project meetings for all other projects.
  • Work with Presales, Projects and Delivery teams as part of an approval board to approve bespoke solutions outside of standard design practice.
  • Work directly on customer sites with customers on large Wireless & LAN Projects
  • Carry out PoC testing and acceptance of new UC design standards or new devices/products/services from vendors to be deployed as part of customer solutions.
  • Take escalation from 3rd line operations team regarding corporate and customer UC Infrastructure.
  • We are ideally looking for someone who is a UC Specialist, so alongside the above duties, day to day, you’ll:
  • Lead the UC practice withing the business working along side Solution Architects and Management and engineering.
  • Develop UC products and services.
  • Own technical UC documentation and related training.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex projects and help develop opportunities.
  • YOUR EXPERIENCE What you bring to the jobYour background will demonstrate:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a NOC environment.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing complex network UC solutions using various access technologies and vendors.
  • Experience in Wireless, Security, WAN, LAN & Voice is desirable
  • Aptitude to pick up new technologies and provide training to other member of the wider engineering team.
  • Please note:Baseline Personnel Security Vetting Standard (BPSS), Security Clearance (SC) and Police Vetting (NPPV)is required for this role. Please ensure you qualify to be granted this level of clearance YOUR QUALIICATIONS About your education and qualificationsYou’ll really need to know your stuff, which means you’ll need:- At least a CCIE Collaboration qualification or demonstrate equivalent experience.- Ideally, you’ll also have a CCDE or equivalent experience and design certification. YOUR REGULATORY KNOWLEDGE Anything specific you need to know- Have agood understanding of the Telecoms market.- Be familiar with ITIL, ISO27001, CESG CAS(T) and PCI Compliance, Public Sector Networks (PSN) and Health & Social Care Networks (HSCN). ABOUT THE ROLE T&Cs:- Working pattern:Monday to Friday- 37.5 hours per week- Permanent / full time- Place of Work: Remote working, with requirement to be in the office one or twice a month/adhocBenefits:
