Job Description

Stonegate Group are the biggest pub company in the UK. Were looking for a Legal Administrator to join us on a fixed term contract until May 2024, working as an integral part of our Legal teams supporting pub leasing and tenancies.The Legal Administrator will provide first class legal administrationsupport to Operational Legal Services to both office and field-based colleagues. This is a fast paced and fun environment and will need an enthusiastic and dynamic mindset.The Legal Adminstrator will need a working knowledge of operational letting agreements as well as familiarity with landlord and tenant legislation. If youre succesful in joining our team you will be expected to liaise with a number of key areas of the businessincluding field-based operators, legal support, licensing, credit control, sales ledger, compliance, local authorities and solicitors appointed by the Company. In addition, the Legal Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the company database is maintainedaccurately and compliance with legal regulations and company policies is adhered to.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the field in the delivery of solutions to disputes.
  • To liaise with stakeholders i.e. including field-based operators, legal support, licensing, credit control, sales ledger, compliance, local authorities and solicitors appointed by the Company.
  • Undertake review of letting histories, tracing previous tenants and researching tenants, guarantors and previous tenants’ assets.
  • Prepare cases summaries
  • Preparation of letters before action in relation to in possession debt andnotices to quit and service of the same.
  • Administering the process of peaceable re-entry process
  • Preparation of case files and index sheets
  • Preparing surrender letters.
  • Prepare TAW termination letters.
  • Notice to Quit acknowledgments and amendments.
  • Serving S146 notices
  • Draft and issue Option to Purchase letters.
  • Investigate and resolve council tax summonses.
  • Amalgamate and distribute monthly litigation reports.
  • Updating company databases accurately and in a timely manner
  • Providing solicitors with updated ledgers and narratives as required
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks/projects as determined by the business.
  • Prepare and issue HMRC de-registration applications.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience of maintaining office and administrative systems and of devising new systems, or improvements to existing ones
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage the production of documents critical to the business.
  • Experience of timely and accurate updating and maintenance of company databases
  • Ability to communicate information effectively to a wide range of internal/external contacts.
  • Demonstrate good competency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Calm, well organised and a self-starter
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills and the ability to respond effectively to constantly changing priorities.
  • Fully supportive of team working – recognises when colleagues are faced with a problem or over-stretched and does not wait to be asked before offering assistance.
