Job Description

SHEQ AdvisorWe are looking for an individual who is seeking their next career challenge in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, working for a painting contractor with 16 branches nationally. You will work with the Head of SHEQ to help the Company to develop the safetyculture.The RoleThis exciting role allows you the opportunity to develop, coach, advise and assist across multiple areas including:Undertaking audits and inspections to ensure that policies and procedures are being adhered toAssisting in the maintenance of Group and branch management systems alongside specialist accreditationsUndertaking investigations following accidents and incidentsDesigning and deliver trainingAssisting in the development of policies and proceduresSharing best practice across the Group to support continual improvementYour DevelopmentDevelopment of our people is a core Bagnalls value. If you are successful in the role there are likely to be future opportunities to progress within the business.About YouThis role would suit someone with experience working within health and safety. You will have a strong desire to improve health and safety and be committed to improving our environmental performance. You will need to be able to coach and influence people atall levels in order to help them change their behaviour. As you will have to manage a range of tasks from different branches, you will need to be able to prioritise effectively. You will also need to be flexible, in order to travel to different sites, whichwill include nights away from home.Person Specification:Personal Qualities

  • Capable of building relationships at all levels
  • Able to utilise coaching skills to engage others and support behaviour change
  • Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • Flexible and able to adapt to meet the needs of the business
  • Willing to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
  • Sound knowledge of SHEQ legislation
  • Understanding of risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments
  • Knowledge and experience of creating and delivering training and learning materials
  • Demonstrable commitment to CPD
  • IT skills (notably especially Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
  • Full driving licence
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Certificate (General or Construction) or equivalent
Desirable
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience of working in an organisation based over multiple sites
  • Technical Member of IOSH
  • Experience of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and specialist accreditations (for example, RISQS, Achilles)
