Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Manager to join us on a permanent basis. We are looking for a strong leader to act as Qualifying Supervisor, coaching and mentoring a large team of Electricians across our 22,000 homes.   • Act as a ‘Qualifying Supervisor on behalf of In communities as defined by the NICIEC approved body for electrical engineering
  • Effectively manage, support and mentor electricians on best practice, safe systems or work and outputs of work
  • Deliver confidence that all electrical work carried out is compliant and that all electricians are adequately trained capable and competent
  • Be proficient in the understanding of Electrical regulations & housing legislation in relation to social housing
  • Enforce and support a high performing culture within the team along with supporting and promoting a strong customer focus amongst electrical engineers
  • Design and implement changes, both operational and strategic, in relation to Electrical legislation changes
  • Support the Principal Duty Holder
  • Manage complaints and learning outcomes
  • Support and manage cyclical testing programs
About you
  • Understanding of people and ability to get the best out of the team to drive a customer focussed team to deliver results
  • Self-motivated and flexible with the ability to organise, plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • Be able to deliver training and/ or information sessions and conducting staff appraisals
  • Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build positive relationships and influence with people at all levels
  • Ability to understand and apply policy and procedures in day to day working and share knowledge and information appropriately
  • Demonstrate good core values and imbed company culture within the team
Requirements
  • City and Guilds Advanced Craft NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (Essential)
  • Driving license and own vehicle (Essential)
  • Relevant experience and qualifications to be a Qualified Supervisor
  • Exceptional knowledge and Understanding of HASAWA and COSHH
  • Knowledge of the building maintenance industry including relevant experience in the inspection of domestic property and the remedy of maintenance problems in general
  • SMSTS - Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate, or other relevant Health and Safety Certificate
  • Ability / knowledge and experience in managing Repairs / Installation and cyclical testing in regards to electrical works
  • Knowledge and understanding of social housing legislation and building safety act
