Job Description

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and management of Sheffield Minds operational services
  • Managing quality, ensuring delivery of positive outcomes for service users and funders
  • Clinical governance and accountability
  • Service monitoring and evaluation
  • Service development to ensure we continue to meet client need most effectively
  • Membership of the senior management team of Sheffield Mind
  • Contribution to the business plan development and implementation
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management to managers and team leaders Line manage staff through regular supervision, coaching, appraisal and performance management approaches Oversee the effective delivery of Sheffield Minds services
  • Oversee the management of demand for services including the management of waiting lists and the client pathway through Sheffield Minds services Ensure that appropriate records and monitoring systems are in place to measure service delivery and serviceuser outcomes and ensure that all services produce accurate and timely monitoring reports Evaluate the effectiveness of services through producing and presenting reports as required. Analyse data gathered from service performance evaluation, to inform thedevelopment / expansion of services and products Coordinate regular reviews of services
  • Develop and maintain an ethos of communication across services to enable cross fertilisation of ideas and practices, raising the overall performance of Sheffield Mind Promote the empowerment and involvement of service users, taking a lead on coproductionand championing this work with service managers / team leaders Develop and maintain relationships with partners and other external stakeholders Understand the changing context of mental health and service delivery, putting Sheffield Mind in a leading positionas a service provider Represent Sheffield Mind at conferences, talks, events, etc.
Clinical Governance and Quality
  • Ensure there are systems in place to ensure service standards are maintained Ensure that clients receive the highest quality service from Sheffield Mind and that all complaints and legal matters arising from the work of Sheffield Mind are dealt with satisfactorilyEnsure there is a robust clinical governance framework for all Sheffield Minds client services to guarantee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services Ensure that Sheffield Minds policies are effective, up to date with current good practiceand kept under constant review Ensure that staff and volunteers working with clients are sufficiently trained and accredited for the work they are undertaking at Sheffield Mind. Make sure they are in receipt of appropriate line management, supervision, supportand training. Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are carried out and risk management and reporting strategies are in place In collaboration with other clinical staff provide clinical support across the organisation Ensure that appropriate boundariesare defined and clearly understood by staff, volunteers and clients Lead on improving quality in Sheffield Minds services Contribute to the writing of tenders and funding applications for services Advise the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive and membersof the senior management team on clinical governance
General Management
  • Lead on the staff development and training programme for the organisation, delivering training as necessary Ensure the quality of recruitment, induction and training of staff and volunteers Work within Sheffield Minds policies and procedures Promote thevalues, ethos and philosophy of Sheffield Mind
Other Tasks
  • Actively participate in supervision with the CEO. Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development Work to Sheffield Mind policies and procedures Actively promote and ensure good equal opportunities practice and work in an anti-oppressivemanner Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Sheffield Mind policies Support and contribute to the charitable and fundraising work of Sheffield Mind, as appropriate.
Carry out such other tasks as are required to meet the aims and objectives of the organisation and contribute to the smooth running of the service
