Job Description

Temporary Payroll/ Accounts Assistant CaldicotImmediate Start! £12.00 - £15.00 Per Hour + Holiday Pay (DOE)My client is a family-owned SME business situated in Caldicot. They are seeking an experienced Payroller / Accounts Assistant to join their growing team. The role is being offered initially on a temporary basis, but there is a very strong chance for thesuccessful candidate this could turn permanent.This is an extremely exciting time to be joining the organisation and supporting the Financial Controller in providing an efficient and effective payroll/accounts service. The suitable candidate will have previous payroll knowledge and have exposure of processingweekly/monthly payrolls and dealing with expenses. The role will have an emphasis on the payroll function, (approx. 2 days) but if you have had previous experience of dealing with purchase/sales ledger processing, bank reconciliations and operating Sage 50Accounts, this would undoubtedly provide you with a competitive advantage.Main duties will include:

  • Processing new starter and leaver details
  • Verifying and checking payroll information to ensure all data is entered for accurate and timely payment
  • Updating Employee Tax Codes
  • Processing Holiday Pay, P45s, P60s, SSP, SMP and SPP
  • Uploading hours onto Sage Payroll
  • Reconciling payroll
  • Deal with internal and external queries
  • Producing weekly reports and payslips
  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Raising sales invoices to clients
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices
  • Expenses
  • Bank account reconciliation
  • Processing supplier payments

My client offers a friendly, dynamic and professional working environment. They are looking for an individual that is keen to make a difference and is willing to pick up additional tasks and responsibilities in order to support the finance function. Ideallyyou will be an AAT studier with a previous background within payroll/accounts but is looking to take it to the next level. My client is open to applications from both full-time and part-time candidates at this stage of the recruitment.Hours of work are 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday. The role is office based.
