Job Description

Learner Welfare OfficerSalary £21,389 to £23,267 per annum37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly and to include evening and weekend hoursFircroft is a residential college occupying a former Cadbury family home, set in six acres of beautiful grounds in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We were originally founded to provide educational opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and excluded members of society. One hundred years on from the birth of Fircroft College, its mission of ‘social justice’ is more relevant than ever. Fircroft is a thriving and ambitious College, our values are embedded throughout the organisation and we are consistently nominated for sector and professional awards as an employer.We are looking to appoint a Welfare Officer to support our learners to progress within the college and to manage behaviour appropriately.The key purpose of this role is to resolve any learner welfare matters relating to Safeguarding, Prevent, acceptable behaviour and fitness to study. The successful person would also be required to provide advice and guidance on student funding and be an impartial and confidential contact point for staff and students on matters of equality, diversity and inclusion.To be considered for this role, you must have experience of supporting learners with pastoral, welfare and safeguarding concerns in an education environment.
