We have increased and diversified our services, working in new and innovativeways with more vulnerable women and girls than ever. Its been a remarkable time for LWA. We have continued to grow and expand and share our voice and our leadership throughout the region. We are also offering more services, have managed to recruit more staffto deal with increased demand and keep staff welfare at the top of our agenda.3 years ago, we had 50 staff, we now have over 90. Our total income has increased from £1.2m in year-ended March 2017 to £2.9m in year-ended March 2021, and we have consistently added to the value of our unrestricted reserves.LWA is fully committed to the principles of equity and equality of opportunity and applications are welcome from all sections of the community. We are a diverse and inclusive organisation, however we would particularly welcome applications from women from culturallydiverse communities, who are currently under-represented at senior levels.What youll be doing:Over the last 3 years, we have not only grown in every measure but have made significant improvements to our governance and financial sustainability and are in the final stages of formulating our new strategy.Based upon a new risk-based reserves policy, we have been investing in our infrastructure and fully recognise that our success and sustainability is rooted in well-trained and supported, high performing and highly motivated staff. As part of our new structure,we have created this highly influential and exciting Finance and Resources Director role.We have a range of restricted and unrestricted funds, and a breadth of donors from private individuals to corporate sponsors. Donations form a crucial aspect of our fundraising strategy, and we will continue to focus heavily on developing an income stream throughpersonal giving.You will provide leadership, strategy and direction for LWAs finance and central services functions (including finance, IT, HR, risk and governance, data protection, impact and performance and facilities management). You will be accountable for financial planningand management (including risk, forecasting, reporting and control) through to the oversight of HR and organisational development, impact and performance, IT and facilities management.As leader of the Finance and Resources Team you will ensure the stability of LWA and you will have high emotional intelligence to create a supportive and empowering environment for staff and be developmental in your approachWhat youll need to offer:As a Finance and Resources Director youll have established yourself as a qualified accountant, but that could be ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA or equivalent and will have had previous oversight of an HR and broader resources team.Your previous experience could come from a variety of different sectors, but some experience within an SME sized organisation with a complex structure would be ideal. In addition it is critical that your personal values align with those of Leeds Womens Aidand that you have a strong empathy for and understand why we deliver services for those affected by Domestic Violence and Abuse.Youll showcase your previous experience of, and/or your willingness for, wanting to work in, and understand, charity financial management, governance and compliance and have awareness of the charity SoRP and financial auditing processes.You understand the company secretary role, along with data protection and compliance, legal frameworks for partnership working and information sharing.Youll demonstrate your ongoing commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities.This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and there is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 (Part 1) for the post holder to be a woman.Whats in it for you:As a package many of the best perks of this role are those you cant put a price on:

The salary to be offered will be between £50,000 - £60,000. As a charity Leeds Womens Aid wont be able to necessarily match an offer from that PE backed profit making firm you may hear about on the market, but they canoffer a transparent and appropriate salary, a compelling cause and a strong set of values and sense of purpose.
