Job Description

Reed Accountancy have an excellent opportunity for an Experienced Accounts Assistant to join their small Finance team on a permanent basis in Scissett, Huddersfield. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business whose turnover has double in the past 5 years. This is a full time position, paying up to £25,000.Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Inputting invoices and credit notes on to the sales and purchase ledger.
  • Allocating bank payments, applying discounts where necessary.
  • Reviewing rebates and posting to the ledger.
  • Producing customer statement.
  • Use Excel to produce account statements to larger suppliers.
  • Reviewing self-billing invoices and raising queries where applicable.
  • Processing customer refunds.
  • Credit Control Management.
  • Daily & Weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Delivery notes allocations.
  • Sign off repair & maintenance invoices by line managers.
  • Review account statements and request missing invoices & credit notes.
  • Process BACS and priority payment runs (weekly and monthly).
  • Produce Remittance Advice.
  • Month end reporting for sales and purchases to the finance director.
  • Daily data back-ups of the account’s software.
  • Journal Entries.
  • Ad hoc Tasks
  • Salary – Up to £25k depending on experience and qualifications.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales ledger & purchase ledger.AAT Level 4 complete or above.Skills Required
  • Advanced Excel – Pivot Tables and V Look Ups.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage own workload and meet tight deadlines
