Job Description

Clinical Coder - SawbridgeworthRef: CW14442A vacancy has arisen for a trainee or fully accredited Clinical Coder to join the coding team for our clients Eastern regions hospitals. This role will primarily be based in a Hospital based in Sawbridgeworth but will require some travel across all sites.Clinical Coder vacancy details:

  • £19,000 to £26,500 per annum
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Clinical Coder experience:
  • Be willing to continue training and develop as needed within the role
  • Be willing to work alongside existing Clinical Coders to develop skills
  • Be committed to developing the service offered by the Clinical Coding Department within Ramsay Health Care
  • Be able to drive, hold a clean driving licence and willing to travel across the region, Colchester, Chelmsford, Sawbridgeworth and Hitchin to cover annual leave and sickness
  • Have a good knowledge of medical terminology
  • Have previous experience in Clinical Coding within a healthcare environment, and will be confident in the use of various software packages including word and excel.
  • Excellent organisation and customer care skills are essential, also working to specific deadlines within a very busy team.
  • Ideally (but not essential) having already attended the National Clinical Coding Standards Foundation Course and met the required National Standards level
  • Clinical Coder duties: Reporting to the Eastern Regions lead Senior Clinical Coder, this full-time position is anexciting opportunity to join a small clinical coding team and will suit either a someonewanting to become a clinical coder or someone that is already accredited.As part of this interesting and varied role you must have a logical approach and an eye fordetail. For trainees full training will be given and is also an ongoing requirement for all. Initialtraining consists of both departmental training and attendance on a nationally recognised 21-day course. Fully accredited Clinical Coders are encouraged to apply.You will have responsibility for delivering high quality coding within the organisation and for ensuring all Clinical Coding deadlines are met without compromising the quality of data. The engagement of clinicians in the clinical coding process will be high on the agenda, particularly with audit and data validation. The ability to integrate audit outcomes andrecommendations into ongoing training programmes will be key to delivering the coding standards.If you are interested in this position, please apply with your most up to date CV.
