Job Description

CNC Programmer/ SetterPermanentSalary - £30,940 - £35,360 Per Annum +Monday to Friday08:3016:30Location: Sandy,BedfordshireBenefits: 22 days holiday + bank holidays (increases with service to 25), Healthcare, cash back health scheme after 3 months, Quarterly bonus, based on turnover, so not guaranteed, Company sick pay, First day at school and Grandparent days (paid), 10% shift allowance for late shifts and 1.3 times hourly rate for nightsMy client is one of the UKs leading precision engineering & sub-contract Manufacturing companies within the East Anglia Region. They have become a well-established name which specialise in the Medical, Biomedical & Scientific sector of the industry. They areconstantly growing and with that they are now looking to further expand their CNC Machinist teams.CNC Miller Programmer/ SetterMust Haves

  • Reading and interpreting design blueprints
  • Programming the CNC machine
  • Adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met
  • Use and control of CNC programs in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation.
  • Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process, for example, datum setting and tool length and wear offsets.
  • Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Complete machining operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, XYZ Prototrak or Heidenhain.
  • Experience with 3, 4, 5 Axis machines
  • Experience with Metal & Plastic materials.
General Responsibilities
  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
  • Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes Machine and Tooling Set Up Packs as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Inspection Plans etc.
  • Use of all measuring equipment as defined within Inspection Plans to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in process inspection in accordance with relevant inspection plans to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
  • Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
  • Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated.
  • Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.
