Job Description

Trainee Cost Engineer | Redcar & Cleveland | 08.00 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 08.00 – 14.00 Friday | Flexible working available | £28,000-£33,000 depending on experienceEstablished in 1963, our client is one of Redcar & Cleveland’s biggest privately owned employers. They are an award-winning, heavy engineering subcontractor with one of the largest machining capacities in the UK. The company offers subcontract machining,mechanical engineering and testing services to a number of Industries including Defence, Renewables, Energy & Rail.The company carry out very large, precision CNC machining services for a diverse range of valued clients, in sectors including oil and gas, renewables, and defence. Their other services include blast and paint, balancing, pressure testing, and assembly.The team pride itself on their exceptional skills, modern CNC shop, and commitment to exceeding clients expectations.This is a staff position, based in the sales office. Our staff team is growing, as demand for our machining and project engineering capability grows. We want to hear from candidates interested in developing, being part of a committed team, and working closelywith our sales and production staff to continue providing excellent service.Are you the right person for the jobThe following criteria are essential

  • Apprentice-trained machinist with 5+ years experience
  • A good communicator with strong IT skills, who would enjoy using their technical knowledge and ability in an office environment
Desirable, but not essential
  • Previous estimating experience
  • 2D/3D CAD skills
  • Commercial experience (contracts)
  • Very large/heavy machining experience (fabrications, castings)
