Job Description

KITCHEN FITTER – KITCHEN REFURBISHMENT – SOUTH MANCHESTER & CHESHIRE – FULL TIME – EMPLOYED OR SELF EMPLOYED AVAILABLEKitchen Fitter (Full Time, Permanent OR Self Employed) required for our client who are the UK’s leading and award-winning Kitchen makeover company. Our client specialises in renovating existing kitchens instead of replacing, typically saving customers 50% of the cost of replacement.Due to their continued growth and success they are now recruiting for a full time, Permanent or Self-Employed Kitchen Fitter to work from their Sale, South Manchester showroom.So, if you are an experienced Kitchen Fitter looking for your next challenge this could be the role for you!Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to take ownership of the installation process from survey, initial rip out, installation of new cabinets (if needed) & fitting new doors to completing any remedial works that occur. You will be working in residential clients homes and will be expected to be able to communicate in a polite, professional manner, show the utmost care ensuring that you are clean and tidy in your work, respecting the property you are working in and maintaining the company’s excellent reputation.Duties to include:

  • Survey of the job prior to installation to assess fitting requirements (this responsibility will be shared with the sales team)
  • Strip out of old kitchen components to be replaced, including removal of tiles in preparation for other trades
  • Co-ordinate with electricians/plumbers/ plasterers/designers ensuring the highest finish is achieved for the client
  • Fitting of kitchen cabinets ready for granite/quartz etc worktops
  • Fitting new and replacement doors including fitting of new hinges and handles
  • Fitting of laminate tops including butt and scribe joints
  • Plumbing work to connect sink and water appliances
  • Second fix plumbing after fitting of quartz tops
  • Completing paperwork to ensure any shortfalls/ remedials are dealt with in a timely manner
    • Location and Hours of Work
  • The showroom is located in Sale, you will be covering South Manchester and Cheshire
  • For full time employed positions the hours of work are based on 40 hrs per week; 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday – Friday
  • Some weekend work may be necessary from time-to-time, overtime rates will be paid for this.
    • Skills & Experience Required
  • A positive, polite, can do attitude, solution orientated mindset and ambition to succeed are essential
  • You must be able to prove a background in a similar high-end environment, ideally with 3+ years kitchen fitting experience.
  • You will be skilled in all aspects of kitchen fitting, including specialist joinery, butt & scribe worktop joints and a good understanding of the associated electrical work and plumbing.
  • Gas Safe and electrical qualifications would be advantageous but not essential as we have support teams on hand for these works.
  • Live within a commutable distance to the Sale showroom and be happy to work in the South Manchester region
  • Clean driving licence, capable of driving a long wheelbase van
    • Requirement for the Self-Employed role
  • Experience of working as a Kitchen Fitter, Bathroom Fitter, Bedroom Fitter, Joiner etc.
  • CIS Registered (Construction Industry Scheme)
  • Live within a commutable distance to the Sale, Cheshire Branch
  • Someone who works well as part of a team and on their own
  • Have your own Van/vehicle suitable for use
  • Own your own tools and equipment (sundries will be provided)
  • Trade insurance

  • Circa £27,000-£30,000 Basic Salary
  • A fully expensed van is available for employed applications, along with uniform, paid holiday and company pension scheme.
