Job Description

JA1132Mobile Building Maintenance TechnicianLocationRutherglenSalary£CompetitiveTypePermanent 42.5 hours per weekOverview:We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Building Maintenance Technician for our client who are a leading Facilities Management Company. The Technician will work as part of the Mobiles Support Team to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), ReactiveMaintenance, requirements on Building and Fabric Services. Key Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of the Mobile Support Team supplying Building and Fabric competency to external clients.
  • To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), including Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies in accordance with the contract requirements on Building Fabric Services.
  • To be trained as an Authorised Person and to issue Permits to Work where required
  • To have an understanding of Fire Regulations and guidelines in respect to carrying out tasks
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the building trades. The works will cover a wide variety such as relaying slabs/coping stones, replacing brickwork, blockwork and repointing. Minor render repairs. Attention to detail is essential.
  • Basic joinery skills repairing doors and windows, basic plumbing and electrics. General handyman tasks such as tiling, painting & decorating.
  • Control and monitor stock in accordance with the companys stock control procedures
  • Inspection and recording of company supplied plant and equipment. Includes signing in/out centrally held equipment
  • To undertake minor project works to the Building fabric.
  • To provide a high level of Building Fabric technical and hands on support in the provision of our service delivery and the daily communication with our clients
  • Working as a key part of the Mobile Support Team, and key interface with Facilities Maintenance Clients.
  • To carry out allocated PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring fabric standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the building fabric.
  • Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
  • To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the fabric aspects of the PPM and plant.
  • To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all reactive fabric maintenance issues and help desk requests associated with building fabric issues.
  • To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub-contractors associated with mechanical/fabric aspects of the PPM schedules.
  • To attend meetings as required and provide technical input.
  • To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.
  • To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
  • To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions be they Fabric Life Cycle replacements, Project works, etc.
Skills and Experience:Essential:
  • A working knowledge and experience of fabric maintenance.
  • Competent working knowledge of all aspects of building fabric, including woodwork, plumbing services, drainage, civils and general dcor.
Desirable:
  • A qualification related to fabric maintenance.
  • Have previously worked in a mechanical role or have skills in this area.
  • Previous experience within a Facilities Management/Maintenance environment.
  • Supervisory experience for future development.
  • Health and Safety Training.
  • IT literate.
  • Must have a clean driving licence.
