Job Description

Facilities Supervisor- Competitive Salary- Rutherglen (South Lanarkshire schools)The RoleDo you possess supervisory experience Are you capable of working with minimum supervision and able to travel and work within the office or based on sites as required If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking to appoint a Facilities Supervisor to undertake work or direct work allocated by the Facilities Manager within set timescales and to a high quality.Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of a Facilities Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Comply with Company procedures.
  • Manage, supervise and monitor the performance of site staff and to include annual PDRs.
  • Assist with absence management and complete Return to Work interviews.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure staffing of and participation in the on-call rota.
  • Carry out preparation for and give assistance with audits.
  • To be trained as an Authorised Person and to issue Permits to Work where required and if on-call where necessary.
  • Ensure Lone Working procedures are adhered to.
  • Carry out observation tours to ensure building is being maintained to an acceptable standard
  • Ensure that PPM tasks are carried out and completed within the timescales.
  • Ensure that all operatives comply with Company and site safety rules.
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are recorded and reported immediately.
  • Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments, where required, are reviewed and adhered to
  • Be capable of working to planned programmes and to plan additional works where required.
  • Be capable of completing requisitions for material or plant in a concise and correct manner to allow the Helpdesk to order timeously.
  • To co-ordinate with other services.
  • Ensure stores are properly controlled and maintained.
  • Ensure work is to the quality required.
  • Monitor the Task Performance report and highlight any delays to the Helpdesk to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure the correct PPE is worn or used and is kept in good condition.
  • Ensure shift handover book is used as and when appropriate.
  • Ensure schools are operational at agreed times by co-ordinating shift cover including holidays, absence and overtime.
  • To be flexible with providing Facilities Technicians cover at all sites when required.
  • Ensure sites carry out statutory checks and adhere to Company Health & Safety procedures with regards to control of Sub-Contractors.
  • Assist with Induction and familiarisation training for new staff.
  • Ensure probationary reviews are undertaken as required.
  • Assist with ongoing training requirements for existing staff.
  • Ensure the building fabric is kept clean.
  • To work closely with lifecycle to ensure all assets are captured and to include condition surveys.
  • In Facilities Managers absence provide support to management team.
  • Assist Facilities Manager in any other required duties.
