Job Description

Pay: Main or Upper Pay Scale£25,714-£41,604 plus SENA Start Date: January or Easter 2021- see advert If you are interested in the roleand would like to discuss any aspect of the school or detail relating to therole please telephone and speak with the Headteacher. At a time of expansion, we have anexciting opportunity to join our special school. We are seeking an inspiringand committed English Teacher who relishes making a difference to childrenslives. If you are enthusiastic,passionate and talented Primary or Secondary Teacher who can make thedifference in young peoples lives, this is the job for you. Our students are aged 11-19 years,and all have an Education, Health & Care Plan. Our students havecommunication and interaction difficulties, often related to Autism. With classsizes of 10 and with additional adult support, we tailor our curriculum andclassroom delivery to every students individual needs. Our students make goodprogress thanks to the high-quality teaching and because we have access toadditional expertise from our onsite support teams. We welcome qualified teachers atany stage of their career, from mainstream or special education as well asnewly qualified teachers and we provide a programme of specialist training forall new members of staff, in addition to our ongoing CPD programme. Broomhill Bank School (West) is situatedin Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells, and is the administrative centre for theschool as a whole. Broomhill Bank (North) opened in September 2015 and is situatedin Hextable, near Swanley, which hosts our residential provision. We are members of thecollaborative group of Kent Special Schools, KSENT, comprised of 24 specialschools across Kent. Broomhill Bank School is the hostschool for the Specialist Teaching and Learning Outreach Service within theTunbridge Wells District. We deploy this resource to support children and youngpeople with SEND in mainstream schools and Early Years settings across theTunbridge Wells District.
