Job Description

Recruiting now for a Production CoordinatorOur client are a successful £multi-million manufacturing and distribution organisation, offering the opportunity for an energetic person with the right technical skills to join their Production team. They are now seeking an ambitious and keen productioncoordinator to join them.The Key responsibilities are :-To manage and administer the day to day activities within the Production Department in order to successfully meet order and despatch commitments. This will involve significant cross-functional team liaison, including production, engineering, purchasing,site services, despatch and sales.Production Testing & Quality:

  • Check product quality at least 3 times daily.
  • Manage manufacturing returns, inspect products, identify issues, and collaborate with supervisors to resolve them.
  • Fill out CPA forms
  • Document manufacturing rejects, analyse trends, and work on reducing rejects.
Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Collect and present daily production data to the Production Manager.
  • Create weekly, monthly, and yearly production summaries.
  • Publish Weekly Manufacturing Updates Summary on the Factory Display Screen
  • Track raw material stock levels and manage deliveries daily.
  • Keep the system updated with real-time information on work orders and sales orders.
Inter-Department Liaison:
  • Serve as the initial contact point for inquiries from Sales, Despatch, and other departments.
  • Coordinate with the Site Manager for IT and internal factory cleaning.
Machinery Maintenance:
  • Actively participate in routine maintenance.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and remove obsolete items in collaboration with maintenance engineer.
  • Book in receipts of the maintenance goods.
  • Record maintenance expenses, identify improvements, and address issues.
Scheduling and Breakdown Cover:
  • Cover scheduling and updates in the Schedulers absence.
  • Assist in preparing work orders as needed.
  • Implement quick fixes for machinery breakdowns when possible.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for bag makers queries when the scheduler is absent.
Purchasing:
  • Place orders for polymer deliveries.
  • Manage factory consumables, including quality and stock levels.
  • Source and negotiate replacement parts from suppliers.
Production Training:
  • Distribute new training materials and updates.
  • Maintain records of production staff training.
  • Possibly assist in delivering induction and other training.
  • Review and update training documents quarterly, safety signage, and procedures.
Production Staff Administration and Support:
  • Manage holiday records for the Production team in the attendance system.
  • Support communication with the night shift and handle shift handover issues.
Recycled material:
  • Aim to increase the percentage of recycled materials used in production.
  • Monthly conduct internal audits of the recycling system to ensure criteria are met
Projects:
  • Opportunity for involvement in projects such as ISO quality, BRC work, Paper bags development, Production Enhancement and Efficiency improvements
  • Provide support for trials with new materials.
  • Participate in projects to review and enhance the quality and competitiveness of suppliers.
