Job Description

HGV Technician.Ruislip, Middlesex.Up to £34,709 + shift allowance (OTE up to £38,861).We cannot keep the nation safe without the defence industry! If you are keen to play your part in this, then read on.I am currently supporting my client in the search for a number of HGV Technicians to join them, as a result of continued growth within their organisation. At a time when defence requirements are becoming increasingly complex to deliver, their 150-year heritagehas enabled them to become true pioneers in their industry and developing the most complex defence vehicle and equipment solutions to the defence and civil markets. Did sound like the type of unique and rewarding role you are seekingIn your new role as an HGV Technician, the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Service, maintain and repair vehicles components and accessories, in line with company, client and manufacturers instructions.
  • Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques.
  • Work in an efficient and productive manner, achieving the targets set out and agreed with Workshop Supervisors or Manager.
  • Operate a Fix First Time way of working ensuring quality of work is at the utmost standard and meets/exceeds any inspection carried out against it.
  • Follow operators license process and procedure to safeguard the companys license.
  • Observe, recognise and report on defects and/or symptoms of impending failure.
  • Order from the parts department all necessary replacement parts, ensuring that no parts are fitted to vehicles other than those required to complete the work.
  • Ensure the correct completion of all job-related documentation (job cards, parts orders, logbooks etc.) including job write-ups.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to in accordance with Company requirements and regulations in force.
My client is keen to hear from people with a background in servicing and repairing either HGVs or LGVs and who have a sound knowledge of HGV / LGV technical specifications and maintenance requirements. A full UK Class C1 drivers license is also essential.Regardless of previous expertise, you will possess a high level of attention to detail and be both self-motivated and an excellent communicator, by nature. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to achieve NVVP1 and SC security clearance.My client is offering an excellent salary of up to £34,709, plus a shift allowance of £4,152.17 and on target earnings of up to £38,861.
