Job Description

Metalis are working with a Global Specialist in their field as the look to appoint their next Operations Manager. You will assume overall control of production and people on site and bring about sustainable positive change to increase productivity and profit.This is a Monday - Friday role based in Rotherham, you will be passionate about Continuous Improvement and the motivation of those around you. Our client is looking for someone who can manage all departments heads effectively as well as indirectly the shop floor teams.Applications must be apprentice trained in a manufacturing discipline Salary is negotiable for this particular position. The package also includes Private Medical, Company Car Allowance, Generous Pension Scheme, 33days holiday.General Duties-

  • You will manage up to 15Direct Reports and 100+ Indirectly.
  • Assume overall responsibility for Finance, Purchasing, Manufacturing, HSE, L&D, R&D and Planning.
  • Attending group conference calls and meetings to ensure objectives are met.
  • Ensure supplier relationships are managed well. This covers purchasing of raw material and logistics providers.
  • Implement long term growth plans and develop plans to achieve production schedules.
  • Hiring of senior leadership team.
  • Market Research - Looking for opportunities to work with the NPI team.
  • Manage the culture of HSE of site - developing a zero-accident culture.
  • Ensure a "right first time" approach is taken with the quality department.
  • Manage labour turnover - Keeping the whole site engaged with the common goals.
About You:
  • A minimum 5Years in a similar Operations Role.
  • Experience managing large volume budgets.
  • Trained in Continuous Improvement Techniques such as Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing.
  • Educated to a degree or HNC Standard within a Manufacturing or Engineering qualification.
  • Hands on, wanting to be visible and engaging with all team members.
  • Prior experience in a Manufacturing or Heavy Engineering position.
  • You must be able to inspire and coach a high performing team
  • Detailed, organised, methodical and calm under pressure.
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance and plant management.
