Job Description

Job roleThe applicant should be looking to establish a long-term career with an expanding business, in excellent working conditions as part of a growing company.The successful applicant will have a background in an Engineering,Manufacturing or FMCG background and be able to work closely with the shop floor and Production Director.Must be able to travel to other group sites in Poland, Netherlands and possibly the USASalary £50,000Hours of work - 0800- 16:30 Monday - FridayDuties

  • Liaise with the company Directors to ensure best practice throughout the Group and act as point of contact on all EHS issues.
  • Writing clear, concise and readily understood reports, procedures and guidance documents.
  • Taking responsibility to write up ZND procedures and guidance documents, amending them as necessary to reflect best working practices and legal and other requirements.
  • Assisting in developing, rolling out and monitoring compliance with the Divisional 9001 / 14001 / 45001 Management Systems to demonstrate compliance.
  • Assisting in the collaborative development of processes and procedures.
  • Create and implement SOPs whilst working closely with the Production Director.
  • Champion Health and Safety across the UK manufacturing site.
  • Revise and update when necessary all risk assessments.
  • Be responsible for ensuring accident reporting and documenting is carried out accurately across all manufacturing sites.
  • Lead development, management and implementation of H&S and Environmental strategy.
  • Ensure all needs are met and demonstrated by internal audits.
  • Leading the operations teams in identifying the causes of any weaknesses and put into place actions that will improve performance.
  • Identifying, initiating and facilitating projects to improve performance.
  • Leading a team to investigate incidents, identifying their root causes and actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as HSE, Fire Brigade, Insurance and Environmental Agencies, ensuring compliance with legislation and ISO requirements.
  • Support in implementation and maintenance of COSHH and risk assessment.
  • Ensure continuous improvement with the management of Environment, Health and Safety and provide frequent reviews on effectiveness
  • Manage and monitor preventative Occupational Health regime
  • Conduct supplier and inter-Group audits
  • Keep up to date with legislation and developments that impact the companys industry and activities
Training and Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent / Environmental Qualification / Training Qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems particularly 9001/14001/45001
  • Qualification and full membership of a professional institution (IOSH, IEMA, CQI, etc.)
Skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ in a contracting context
  • Strong desire to maintain client relationships whilst not compromising contractual entitlement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
