Easily commutable areas: Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield, and Doncaster.Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive geography lessons that cover a wide range of topics, including physical geography, human geography, cultural geography, and environmental issues.
• Utilize various teaching methods and resources, such as maps, globes, interactive technology, and field trips, to create an immersive learning experience for students.
• Foster critical thinking and analytical skills by encouraging students to analyze and interpret geographical data, maps, graphs, and other spatial information.
• Guide students in understanding global interconnections, geopolitical issues, and the impact of human activities on the environment.
• Promote geographical literacy by teaching students about different regions, cultures, and societies, and encouraging them to appreciate the diversity and interconnectedness of the world.
• Assess and evaluate students progress through assignments, projects, exams, and class participation, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and growth.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing their ideas, asking questions, and engaging in discussions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the geography curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and current trends in geography education.
• Stay updated with advancements in the field of geography, including technological tools, geospatial data analysis, and current events, and integrate them into the curriculum when appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• QTS Degree or Equivalent Degree.
• Strong knowledge of geography concepts, theories, and current issues, with expertise in specific geographical regions being an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Passion for geography and the ability to inspire students to explore and understand the world.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and deliver lessons effectively.
• Technological proficiency to incorporate digital tools, geospatial technologies, and interactive resources in teaching.
• Adaptability to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students.
• Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and staying updated with the latest developments in the field of geography education.
