Job Description

CAD Technician-Design Manager– £33,000-£38,000 – RotherhamThe RoleDo you possess extensive civil / structural steel engineering experience Are you comfortable in fast-paced, busy environments If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.We are a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of reinforced concrete and bolted steel liquid storage tanks, seeking an experienced, ambitious, and efficient CAD Technical Design Manager to detail and manage 2d and 3d construction drawingsand models. The successful candidate will be the technical design coordinator and creator in our fast-paced and varied design area, ensuring design correctness from inception to completion.The ideal candidate will need to have extensive experience in ideally both civil engineering and steel work. Our projects vary from £30k to £1.5m and you will be responsible for all CAD works and design coordination.Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate all aspects of project and production technical drawings for steel and concrete tanks, bases and roofs in 2D and 3D where required.
  • Coordinate drawings and designs, between ourselves, suppliers and clients to achieve approvals on time.
The CompanySetting the standards for the design, manufacture, and construction of reinforced concrete and bolted steel tanks and aluminum roofs and tank foundations.Formed in 2013, Tank Consult is based in South Yorkshire, we have over 35 years expertise in the design, manufacture, installation of Glass Coated, Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coated, Stainless Steel and Galvanised Bolted steel tanks, along with the design and constructionof reinforced concrete, insitu poured circular and square tanks.The Person
  • Extensive civil engineering and/ or structural steel engineering experience.
  • 2D and 3D drawing CAD skills (AutoCAD and other 3D packages such as Inventor etc) and proficiency.
  • Civil Eng/ Structural Steel Industry experience carrying out a similar role.
  • Prioritization skills.
  • Ability to be flexible / multitask based on workflow demands.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Communication skills at all levels, colleagues, customers, suppliers, consultants and site teams.
  • Excel and Word computer skills to a good business level. Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Specific design software such as STAAD or similar a real bonus.
