Job Description

Merchandiser(Both Junior & Merchandiser level roles available)Supplier to RetailRochdale**Excellent career progression opportunities** My client, a supplier of beautiful home textiles to the retail industry are now seeking to expand their Merchandising team in Rochdale with the appointment of:

  • Junior Merchandiser
  • Merchandiser
The successful candidates will come from with a supplier or retailer background but strong analytical skills are a pre-requisite.Key Duties:
  • Stock Management
  • Forecasting seasonal product mix based on finance targets and new business initiatives.
  • Work within cash flow forecasts and manage all stock levels accordingly.
  • Accurate forecasting of stock within the designated product range based on business trend analysis and research.
  • Monitoring of customer store and till sales, make amendments to forecast estimates as and when required.
  • Regular monitoring of low selling lines to identify of they need to be discontinued. Assist with stock takes, ensuring all figures are accurately keyed into the company systems.
  • Supplier Management - Place orders with the mill in a timely manner to ensure that customer delivery requirements are met
  • Regular communication to clarify priority products for shipment and where required tracking until delivered, where crucial delivery dates apply.
  • Client Management - Keep up to date with all reports requiring completion including customer stock reports, comments report, at risk report, fabric reports, new range forms, valuation report, turnover report and planning sheets.
  • Liaise with the Technical department regarding product development, quality issues and faulty stock.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Experience in a Merchandiser role - either within a supplier or retailer environment
  • Advanced planning and analytical skills, including computer skills.
  • Good judgement and decision making skills
  • Strong customer awareness and understanding
  • Passionate about product, strong market and brand awareness
  • Discreet, professional and well spoken, with excellent communication skills
