Job Description

The Category Manager will have responsibility for a given product category, overall performance and ROI from cradle to grave of that product life cycle.Client DetailsA leading supplier of textiles products, currently supplying customers in the following markets - Retail, Manufacturers, Wholesalers and Distributors in the UK and WorldwideLocation: RochdaleDescriptionThe Category Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supplier performance measurement and feedback
  • Identification of supplier/stock concerns and make recommendations for the Range review process
  • Innovation of new products through analysing trends in the market
  • Liaise with suppliers re new design/innovations
  • Performance review - review margin and sales volumes by territory
  • Sampling performance driving ROI of product
  • New product - identification of need and development/evolution from customers
  • Performance review - review margin and sales volumes by territory

  • Set target prices and selling prices
ProfileThe successful candidate for the Category Manager role will ideally have experience in the following:
  • New product development process management / project management
  • Critical path set up and management
  • Strategic Sourcing - identification of preferred suppliers in a product area
  • Approval of suppliers (appraisals, T&Cs, standards)
  • Ongoing benchmarking on price and product
  • Supply chain research to identify need of development/evolution
  • Strong Excel skills
