OBJECTIVE OF ROLEWorking within the Electrical and Controls Category Engineering team the Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for defining system architectures on new machine programmes and developing functionality against high level marketing requirements.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES "Understanding high level project requirements and developing and delivering an electrical and electronic system architecture that satisfies these. " Working with internal teams and suppliers to deliver validated system components against the project timing plan. " Creating refined requirement and project V&V documents. " Electrical and electronic fault-finding. " Development and maintenance of electronic service tools using XML. " Development of strategies and a technology roadmap for vehicle network architectures. " This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of desk-based and workshop-based activities.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE "Must have "CAN DO" attitude " Engineering degree or equivalent " Experience of working in the automotive, rail or preferably off-highway vehicle domain " Experience of low voltage 12/24V DC electrics. " Experience of vehicle network design and development, ideally SAE J19339 CAN Bus. " Extensive experience of v-model design methodologies " Understanding of functional safety " Practical problem-solving skills " Able to work independently and manage conflicting priorities.
