Working for one of the UKs most recognised brands at one of their divisions in Staffordshire, this is an interesting and rewarding role, working within the Engineering DepartmeExcellent career opportunities and rewards are available for candidates who can demonstrate a good work ethic with a willingness to go over and above the norm in order to deliver an outstanding service.Main aim of roleTo provide cost estimates for designed and purchased components.Working with design teams and buyers to define and achieve product target costs.Track product costs throughout the New Product Introduction Process (NPIP).Identify and investigate cost reduction opportunities.Required Qualifications and SkillsRelevant business/manufacturing/engineering degree preferred. Also considered ONC, OND, A levels, City & Guilds Level 3, BTec Level3, NVQ level 3 in relevant subjects along with relevant experience.Working knowledge of cost estimating in an engineering or manufacturing environment.The ability to read engineering drawings and understand the processes used in the manufacturing of components and how they influence cost.IT literate and able to learn to use a variety of IT systems and tools, in particular strong Excel skills with the ability to create, manage and manipulate large datasets.Good attention to detail and accuracy.Good interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
