Job Description

My client is one of the leading award-winning sushi restaurants in Cardiff, offering a warm cosy atmosphere and the best sushi to all customers. They are looking for an experienced and determined individual to join their Kitchen team as a Sushi Chef ona full-time basis to help bring smiles and incredible service to all their guests.The main duties and responsibilities of the Sushi Chef will be:

  • Preparation of ingredients used in making of sushi during dinner service e.g., the filleting of fish and tuna, sushi rice.
  • Making of the sushi during the dinner service, maintain consistency and high standards in every roll.
  • Garnishing and dressing the sushi rolls, to maintain incredible presentation standards.
  • Making of Nigiri and preparing the Sashimi for the service.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of kitchen after service.
The ideal Sushi Chef will:
  • Be confident in Japanese cuisine especially in the making of Sushi.
  • Understand the importance of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.
  • Have great communication skills.
  • A knowledge of all sushi isrequired.
  • Be able to keep calm under pressure as the service can get particularly busy on Friday and Saturdays!
