Job Description

Microbiology Lab ManagerUp to £40,000RipleyCurrently recruiting for a leading FMCG organisation based in Ripley who are known world-wide for their professional product ranges which are used in many households and professional organisations.With proven experience leading a laboratory team, you will also have experience of working in a Microbiology lab. The purpose of this role will be to support the Technical Manager by managing the day to day operation of the Quality & Microbiology laboratory.Key Duties:

  • Preparing, implementing and managing laboratory procedures and practices; managing and organising the laboratory technicians in the performance of their duties.
  • Training of laboratory staff to ensure that adequate capabilities are available
  • Development and preparation of Laboratory systems, procedures and methods to ensure that they are fit for purpose, compliant with all regulatory requirements, and are up to date
  • Operate the laboratories in compliance with the requirements of the Quality System and Good Laboratory Practice / Good Manufacturing Practice, and to meet compliance with Certification Standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 22716, ISO 13485 and other applicable International and Industry Standards
  • Preparation, development and implementation of Laboratory procedures and methods in conjunction with regulatory requirements, International Standards and Industry best practice
  • Ensuring that all samples are tested in accordance with the correct methodology and in the prescribed time frame and testing schedules
  • Maintenance of test records to provide complete traceability of results from samples provided to the laboratories irrespective of their origin
    • Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Microbiologist
  • Supervisory experience in a laboratory environment
  • Experience of operating in a regulated environment such as GMP / GLP / UKAS
  • Skilled in Microbiological techniques with a sound knowledge of method validation - Experience in production facility hygiene
