Job Description

Commercial Manager Required for our client in Rickmansworth as part of a Joint Venture on a geotechnical engineering project for HS2. Our client are looking for a Commercial Manager with experience in the Piling or Ground Engineering Sectorto grow the team.The Commercial Manager must have the ability to establish reasonable contract conditions with clients for work to be undertaken; Ideally have a degree or equivalent in quantity surveying or related discipline and would have some civils / groundworks / pilingexperience. The Commercial Manager would successfully manage all commercial aspects function within a project Joint Venture environment in line with the commercial guidelines and will be responsible for the commercial and contract management of one or moredesignated geotechnical engineering subcontracts.Commercial Manager Position Overview

  • Establish reasonable contract conditions with clients for work to be undertaken
  • Resolve contract disputes in a timely manner so as not to adversely affect cash flow;
  • Bottom line profitability of the contracts
  • Market penetration based upon turnover; and
  • Customer satisfaction leading to repeat business.
  • Successfully manage all commercial aspects of the divisions operations
  • Work on projects from tender negotiation to agreement of final account
  • Collation of all applications for payment and invoice values in order to produce the summary of monthly income figures for submission to accounts.
  • Advise contracts managers on contractual matters as they arise during ongoing contract
  • Provide advice to the Estimating Manager regarding estimate formats
Commercial Manager Position Requirements
  • Degree within a Quantity Surveying discipline
  • Professional Membership of eg. ICE/RICS ideally
  • Proven experience as a main or specialist contractor in a commercial role
  • Prior experience in piling/ground engineering sector
  • NEC experience is essential
  • Knowledge of civil engineering/building contracts.
  • Commercially astute.
  • IT literate in Excel, Word and accounts packages.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Commercial Manager Position Remuneration
  • Salary DOE
