You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, you will be working nights on a 4 on 4 off basis 1 dayshift and 1 nightshift and in return youll receive a competitive salary of £32,047 - £34,984 per annum.About us:Whether its fresh consignments or frozen goods we have it covered! You will also assist with normal driving duties to assist with the operation, however this role will be primarily ashunting position.What youll be doing as our Shunter:- Move goods between depot sites and within the yard efficiently, legally, safely- Follow safety procedures at all times and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and returned on time- Conduct and record vehicle and yard checks, reporting any defects where appropriate- Assist with the loading and unloading of company vehicles- Maintain the vehicles and trailers in a clean and tidy condition at all times and, once trained, assist with basic maintenance of the fleet including ensuring vehicle fluids are checked and topped up- Identify factors that affect ability to drive and load goods safely- Ensure all proof of delivery paperwork is fully completed, signed and returned to relevant colleagues- Maintain cleanliness of yard, loading bays and fuel island- Greet delivering drivers form other companies/depots with respect and give guidance- Drive company vehicles where required including for the purpose of accompanying colleagues and to attend repair and servicing facilities- Available for local driving duties if requiredWhat qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Shunter- Minimum of LGV Cat C Licence (C+E Licence to drive articulated vehicles and in date)- In date Driver CPC Qualification Card Holder and fully functional Drivers Tachograph Card- Extensive knowledge and application of driver rules, regulations, food safety and health and safety procedures- Be able to compile, analyse and interpret relevant dataWhat skills and abilities are we looking for in our Shunter- Ability to use available tachograph equipment and complete manual entries- Ability to use initiative and to be organised so that key tasks can be completed fully and on time- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure- Ability to work to set targets and deadlines- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Proven arithmetic skills- Effective working unsupervised for long periods and in a team-based environmentIf this role sounds like the right fit for you, click apply today to become our new Shunter.
