Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement professional, with a background in public sector procurement, to join this West Midlands based client who are going through a significant period of change.Reporting into the Head of Procurement and taking responsibility for a small team, your role will be to deliver and develop a cost effective, efficient and responsive procurement service whilst developing category strategies and developing collaborativeprocurement working partnerships.Key duties will include:

  • To contribute to the overall procurement strategy
  • To lead on and develop high impact contract strategies
  • To analyse category spend and implement a supply management approach
  • To lead and manage high complex procurement projects
  • To provide professional procurement and supply chain management advice on a range of commercial issues, ensuring it is in line with EU Procurement Directives
  • Build relationships with suppliers and senior stakeholders
This is a key role within the team and will deputise for the Head of Procurement when required.The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate experience of working within a procurement role at a senior level as well as a strong understanding of public sector procurement regulations and OJEU.This role requires an on site presence for a minimum of 2 days a week and will pay circa £50,000.
