Job Description

Our Client is a speciality supplier and manufacturer of raw materials to the UK Chemical, Pharmaceutical & Food Industries.They are now seeking a Quality Assurance Manager. This position is a full-time permanent role based in Redditch, Worcestershire.Job Purpose

  • Assuring the Quality of technical and business processes followed by the company working closely with the Quality Control Manager and Technical QRESH Manager. Working with the Human Resource function to assure the level of personnel competence enabling best-in-class work processes
  • Leads efforts and is responsible for the development of the ISO-9001:2015 Quality Management System including the training of all aspects of the QMS
  • Responsible together with the Quality Control Manager and Technical QRESH Manager for Regulatory, Health, Safety and Environmental needs of the company
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive or improvement measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
  • Validates quality processes by reviewing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree or equivalent in chemistry or a related science subject
  • Previous experience in a Chemical or Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing organisation
  • Trained according to ISO 9001:2015 with auditor experience and demonstrable experience of implementing ISO 9001:2015 through team members
  • Line Management / Coaching experience with the ability to provide QMS mentoring and training to employees
  • Has the ability to lead PDCA multi-disciplinary Quality Improvement Teams and who understands the analytical elements of PDCA - root cause analysis
  • Proven ability to create and manage documentation with report writing skills
  • Chemical regulatory professional
  • GDP experience desirable
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • Membership of professional bodies
  • Strategic understanding / Articulate / Excellent communicator
  • Has the ability to perform in a fast paced customer driven science based sales and marketing environment
