Youre a Mechanical Design Engineer looking for the freedom to create brand new and innovative designs in an R&D environment. Forming part of our small, but vital R&D team, your mechanicaldesign skills will lead the way in our new product & solution evolution.Youll report in to the Head of Engineering with a remit to review and overhaul our existing mechanical component and product portfolio as well design new components and products from concept through to the finished article. With a clear focus on DFM (DesignFor Manufacture) in mind you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of design briefs, often to bespoke requirements.PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Design Engineer, Multi-Skilled Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design EngineerAs our Mechanical Design Engineer, crucially you MUST have: · CAD / CAM software experience (Solidworks preferred) · DFM / DFAM knowledge · Experience of designing products for mass-manufacturingYoull be a mechanically biased design engineer, but either electrical or mechanical design engineers would be considered.You could have designed any size of product from small components through to large plant and could have a background including, but not limited to, robotics, aerospace, automotive and machine design and R&D. An interest or experience of systems and controls,Raspberry Pi for example, would be also be useful, but this is not essential.Education level is not a critical factor either, you could have come via the apprenticeship route, or through a formal education pathway.
