Job Description

A CMM / Quality Engineer position has become available, within a business that has supplied revolutionary technology to various industries for over 50 years. As they work through a huge period of growth, this award winning company is looking to expand its various teams, including additional staff within the Quality team.CMM / Quality Engineer overview -Organise quality activities with the Quality Manager to ensure that processes and products meet with the requirements. Liaise with other departments to resolve processing issues and help drive continuous improvement. Manage quality planning, processes and staff training as necessary, to support the CMM area. Work closely with suppliers and internal operations teams, to successfully resolve all issues, encourage quality, productivity improvements and any cost reductions.Duties include -

  • Develop and implement methods for inspecting and evaluating the reliability and accuracy of products, processes and production systems.
  • Implement the relevant Quality Tools for the analysis of defects in both materials and products, recommending corrective measures to maintain quality standards on site.
  • Maintain and continually strive to improve the quality of the products.
  • Work on corrective and preventative actions, including process and product design improvements for procedural, product insufficiencies through the analysis of data.
  • Help to drive quality programs of product and process improvement, by implementing lean tools and techniques.
  • Inspection of products in line with company and customer requirements.
  • Plan and manage internal audits of manufacturing processes and working practices, to ensure compliance and the resolution of any non-conformances.
  • Desirable skills/experience/attributes -
  • Experience in a similar position (production enviroment).
  • Computer literate / ideally able to use SAP.
  • Conversant with problem solving and lean tools.
  • Experience using CMM - ideally PC-DMIS.
  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering education.
