We already punch way above our weight, and we are looking for someone to throw some punches with us!We are industry leaders in providing drone inspection and survey solutions around the world but we are also becoming increasingly recognised as a world leader in visual asset management software solutions through our iHawk cloud-based software.In short - we do cool stuff and we are really good at it.About the Engineering Manager role: The Engineering Geospatial Manager will provide technical oversight and leadership to the engineering and geospatial department in the UK.The role is ultimately responsible for the successful execution (field & office) of all engineering and geospatial operational projects executed by UK based teams in terms of safety, quality, schedule and budget.This role will be responsible for managing the customer interface for all aspects of project execution, developing the engineering and geospatial teams and improving and expanding our services and products.The Engineering Manager will be responsible for:Technical

  • Ensuring the technical requirements of a project are specified and understood by the delivery team
  • Ensuring successful delivery of multiple projects in multiple locations and time zones in multiple industries to meet contractual commercial, quality and safety specifications
  • Interfacing with the engineering and geospatial teams and client to troubleshoot throughout the project covering all aspects of delivery
  • Delivering project reviews and lessons learned to continuously improve service and delivery and technical innovation
  • Understanding industry trends to ensure service and product development, including working closely with our R&D & software teams
  • Ensure field audits are happening on a regular basis
  • Commercial and Finance
  • Through a deep understanding of the commercial terms of each project and the businesses strategic goals, drive efficiencies and identify commercial opportunities to the senior management team
  • Manage department budget
  • Seek opportunities to maximise profitability while not compromising safety or quality
  • Build strong relationships with clients in keeping with Cyberhawk values to build Cyberhawk reputation as leaders in terms of delivery, innovation, reliability and quality.
  • Leadership and People
  • Deliver a high performing proactive engineering and geospacial team
  • Ensure the technical skills are in place to deliver complex projects across multiple technologies and sectors to maximise flexibility while maintaining deep technical knowledge and technical competence
  • Develop the team to focus on safety, technical excellence, and innovation, providing opportunities for development and progression for all.
  • Deploy resources to deliver development as well as performance objectives
  • Qualifications, Experience, Competencies: Qualifications:
  • Technical degree(s) (Engineering or similar)
  • MBA (preferable)
  • Inspection certificates (preferable)
  • Drone pilot licence (preferable)
  • Knowledge and skills:
  • Industry knowledge of key sectors:
  • Oil and gas (upstream and downstream)
  • Power generation (renewable and thermal)
  • Power transmission & distribution
  • Knowledge of visual and contact-NDT inspection techniques for metallic, composite, concrete and masonry structures
  • Knowledge of Geospatial and land surveying techniques
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Experience of working in multiple cultures and in different time zones
  • Experience of financial aspects of PE backed companies
  • Knowledge of industrial digitisation
  • Knowledge of commercial drone operations
  • Strong HSE background
