I am currently recruiting for an Italian Speaking Buyer for a company based in Hertfordshire.Job DescriptionTo ensure that the company sources a vast range of materials from appropriate suppliers at the right cost, whilst ensuring stock levels are kept at optimal levels throughout. The development of new products and suppliers in conjunction with commercial & customer activity as well as constant improvements to existing systems in order to increase the efficiency of the purchasing department.• Experience of sourcing raw material food ingredients from global suppliers, including negotiating prices and ordering stock.• Understanding of stock control tools, FIFO and the importance of shelf life and traceability.• Continued development of existing systems used to manage the order process and stock control.• Ability to work cross functionally with all departments, critically commercial in ensuring that products are sourced and costed in a timely manner with which to serve our customers.• Timely creation of weekly supplier orders in line with defined stock holding policies, replenishment plans, customer forecasts and cycles.• Constant assessment of forecasts and planning methodologies to ensure sufficient stock availability and lower working capital requirements.• Create and maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers and customers (both internal and external).• Be aware of market trends for the ingredients being bought and provide regular updates to the commercial teams.• To ensure suppliers KPI’s are analysed and met on a monthly basis.• Any other duties requested by Purchasing Director to meet the changing needs of the business.• Degree educated, ideally CIPS qualified (or working towards).• Excellent IT & numeracy skills.• Communication skills at all levels are vital as is the ability to speak Italian.
