Job Description

The Business & Opportunity:Fantastic opportunity to be part of the senior management team for a fast-paced multi-layered international business, operating manufacturing and distribution sites across over 70 countries.As an established market leader within their field, they boast leading brands with a reputation for outstanding quality and design, and are currently experiencing an aggressive and exciting growth phase.Reporting to the Managing Director in Leeds and Finance Director located in France, you will be the most senior member of finance in Leeds, and manage a small accounts team taking responsibility for all finance operations.Specific Requirement:

  • Hands-on accounting and financial reporting for the business and their subsidiary companies. This will include working closely with a small accounts team to produce monthly management accounts, create presentations for the Board Packs (twice a year), anddevelop and maintain 3 year rolling pro-forma forecasts (balance sheet, cash flow and P&L).
  • Prepare annual budgets for each of the international entities and assist in rolling these entities into a consolidated budget (including Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and P&L).
  • Manage the Leeds based and Hong Kong based bookkeepers, mentoring them to grow and improve, and evaluate processes and staffing requirements to maximize department efficiency.
  • Reconcile inter-company and foreign funds transfers.
  • Focus on the profitably of the business model, working with senior management to identify areas of systems and cost improvements and increasing Company profitability each year.
  • Communicate with global distributors to: Advise on optimising financial success; Obtain relevant financial information for data warehousing purposes and to ensure royalties are supported by accurate sales results; Analyse distributor purchasing history;Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and increase profitability.
  • Interface regularly with the Corporate team, ensuring that monthly closing requirements, financial forecasting and any projects are met on a timely basis. Also, to ensure the Inventory purchasing levels are accurate, as are costing and overhead allocations.
  • Work closely with the FD in preparing for the annual audit and liaising with the auditors to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Willing to undertake adhoc projects analysis such as pricing as and when required.
Skills & Experience required:
  • Either Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ACMA) or Qualified By Experience.
  • Operated within an SME environment.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software applications (Sage or similar).
  • Advanced Excel to basic macro level will prove advantageous in order to assist building reporting models.
  • Experience of International trading, including logistics & shipping and international supplier and customer trade will be advantageous, but by no means a pre-requisite.
  • A working knowledge of FOREX and multi-currency trading would prove useful.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Results driven, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, confident and commercially aware approach to decision making and planning.
  • Self-motivated, success driven, able to work independently, and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and identify opportunities to develop the business model.
  • No nonsense / sleeves rolled up person comfortable in dealing with the detail required, whilst also able to operate comfortably within the senior management team.
