Are you
  • Apprentice trained in electrical mechanical engineering;
  • Experienced running and terminating cables;
  • Experienced reading, understanding and interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings;
Do you
  • Have experience of insulation materials properties and techniques
  • Have electrical test experience;
  • Have welding, brazing, soldering experience;
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to connect naturally with people;
  • Have crane, slinging and lifting experience;
The RoleThe Coil Erector responsibilities:
  • Carry out all production operations in accordance with the company health & safety policy.
  • Prepare core & clamp assemblies and LV & HV coil windings to production priority;
  • Schedule for erection of LV & HV coil windings. Ensuring core lamination and clamp are free from damage and debris contamination;
  • Winding assemblies must be measured for axial and radial dimensions and arranged on core & clamp assemblies to maximise insulating properties, product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;
  • Prepare LV winding terminations and copper bar work utilising soldering or brazing (or as directed) jointing processes and insulation materials to maximise insulating properties, product performance and reduce potential for production test and in servicefailures;
  • Prepare HV winding terminations and copper wire utilising crimping or soldering (or as directed) and insulation materials to maximise insulating properties, product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;
  • Assemble ancillary components (Link Boards, Tap Changers, CT, etc) in line with supplier recommendation and production specification to maximise insulating properties product performance and reduce potential for production test and in service failures;
  • Ensure all quality control and customer specific documentation has been completed to specification;
