Job Purpose The role is within the Investment Operations area of the Investment Financial Services Department, which provides professional Investment Services to multiple clients with Assets under administration of approx. £35bn. Reporting into the Asset Servicing Supervisor, the role is responsible for performing business-critical day to day Asset Servicing tasks, which serve Unit Linked, Non-Linked and Solvency II stakeholders. The assets held include Collective Investments, Equities,Fixed Interest, Derivatives and Cash Instruments such as Money Market Funds, Certificates of Deposit etc. Key Accountabilities Tasks include but are not limited to: - Setting up assets including equities, bonds, Derivatives - Updating and maintaining static data - Processing income in our Investment system and dealing with custodian income queries - Maintaining the income diary and Processing Tax Vouchers - Liaising with our Fund Managers to obtain voluntary corporate event responses & processing these in the custodian system to meet deadlines - Processing Corporate Actions in our Investment system - Checking prices received from our data vendor and raising price issues as required - Dealing with queries, operational issues and escalations. - Maintaining KPIs and MI - Working on small change projects and larger Company driven initiatives Success in the job will be evidenced by contributions to day to day operational performance and KPIs (e.g. Accurate and timely provision of Asset Servicing data to Investment systems and SII data repository, minimal business errors / Losses etc.) as well ascontributions to Continuous Process Improvement Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills - Experience of working in an Investment Back Office preferably in an Asset Servicing function - Experience of working with Multifonds, Bloomberg AIM/terminal systems would be an advantage. - Demonstrably high level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must with ability to meet deadlines - Experience of using Microsoft Excel is desirable but an ability to learn how to use new applications/systems is essential. - A driven and logical approach to managing issues and solving problems is required - Intermediate numerical aptitude is important as the role will require performing basic mathematical calculations and understanding financial concepts. Relevant training will be provided. - A good communicator with a customer service ethic that is proactive and hardworking and that is an effective team player as well as being able to work on their own to complete processes as required. - Ability to work collaboratively and adjust to fluctuating work volumes. - It is expected the successful candidate will be able to learn and apply new processes quickly and effectively as well as identifying how the process fits into the wider process and eventually have the aptitude to train other colleagues on those processesin the future. Essential Qualifications:5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English (or equivalent). Preferable A Level or AS Level educated with good grades Ideal Qualifications:CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) or qualified by experience. Additional CISI Investment/Operations related qualifications/exam passes or equivalent e.g. IMC Part qualified to CIMA certificate or ACCA Fundamentals level.
