Job Description

An expanding and innovative company are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.The company are expanding rapidly as the interest in their products increases which is having an impact on workload. Therefore, this is a newly created position to keep apace with company growth. The Financial Accountant will manage all General Ledger transactions and accounts with a specific focus on accuracy and detail, reporting to the Financial Controller. Financial Accountant duties

  • Perform month end, and year end accounting activities and reconciliations to the general ledger and make changes as necessary.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare and post journal entries for accruals and prepayments, variances and other adjustments as required.
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations and returns.
  • Review financial reports to identify and explain variances and provide commentary on balances.
  • Analyse and Interpret Financial Information, providing assurance that information complies with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Produce daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain and review the fixed asset ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts reporting and commentary.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts and produce monthly packs to support the Balance Sheet and P&L.
  • Maintain integrity of internal controls.
  • Management of the Goods Received not Invoiced.
  • Financial Accountant person specification
  • Excellent MS Office skills a must, especially Excel.
  • Good communicator and able to work on own or part of a team.
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work to deadlines.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • High level of accuracy applied to tasks.
  • Sense of urgency - make things happen/get results.
  • Problem solving skill.
