Pont Newydd Medical Centre is an established friendly 5 Partner training practice with a current list size of 13,400 patients. We provide high quality primary care services in a modern purpose built health centre with excellent facilities in the Rhondda Valley. Located 25 minutes from Cardiff with good transportation links. We have a full complement of highly skilled staff including GP’s, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technician, practice nurses, health care assistants, phlebotomist and a supportive administrative team. We are looking for a motivated, forward thinking Pharmacy Technician, preferably with primary care experience, however not essential as primary care training will be provided for the right candidate. The role will be varied and you will be expected to undertake work alongside the practice pharmacists to answer medication queries and manage repeat prescription authorisations and re-authorisations, undertake medicines reconciliation and various other aspects of medicines management. You will also provide prescribing advice and support to the practice administrative teams, partake in clinical audits, assist in developing protocols, providing feedback to prescribers and monitoring improvements. As part of your role you will also support the practice pharmacist with chronic disease management, shared care and anticoagulation medication processes. We believe this to be an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician who would like to apply their skills to ensure safe and efficient prescribing in general practice. We would always welcome informal visits to meet the practice team. We welcome telephone enquiries for potential applicants. Please speak with Esther Young - Senior Practice Pharmacist or Mrs Clare Johnson Practice Manager on .
