Job Description

Opportunity for a quality manager to join a secure manufacturing business that has been trading for over 40 years. They work for a very wide and diverse range of clients across multiple industries and continue to grow year-on-year. You will earna salary of up to £45K (dependent on experience - possibly a little more for the right person) plus pension and they currently work a 9-day fortnight meaning you have every Friday off work.Working as part of the senior management team on site you will manage a small team in a fast-paced manufacturing setup and be responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality, managing all internal and external audit processes, maintaining existing accreditations,looking to achieve new industry-specific accreditations and looking to improve overall quality for the business.The hours of work will be:Week 1: Monday to Thursday 7:30am-5:15pm, Friday 7:30am-1:30pmWeek 2: Monday to Thursday 7:30am-5:15pm, Friday off.As the quality manager, your duties will include:

  • Working alongside the management team and taking the lead on quality assurance
  • Taking responsibility for the quality and conformity of products and processes throughout production.
  • Ensuring products meet customer standards and requirements.
  • Engaging with customers and suppliers to understand customer concepts and requirements.
  • Leading the quality team to ensure that team members are fully trained and equipped to achieve objectives.
  • Leading capability assessments on equipment and processes.
  • Taking responsibility for quality audits and ensuring that company processes are in line with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Implementing and taking responsibility for processes to ensure that corrective actions are applied consistently throughout the business across all products.
  • Creating systems to ensure quality information is distributed successfully throughout the business.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.
To apply for the quality manager role, you will need:
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)
  • New product introduction (NPI) experience
  • Experience working with quality standards, accreditations, and customer requirements.
  • Auditor qualifications (lead or internal) are desirable.
  • Experience in introducing new standards and accreditations.
  • Good leadership experience including providing training and development to staff.
