Our partner client Ferguson Marine have been an integral part of shipbuilding on the River Clyde since 1903 and are now entering an exciting stage in our development as a world leader in marine engineering technology.Over the past few years Ferguson Marine has pushed the boundaries of innovation, particularly in the development of green propulsion technologies - first diesel-electric hybrid and then liquefied natural gas, demonstrated by the recent successful launches of MV Catriona and MV Glen Sannox. Next on the hit-list is hydrogen, a gaseous fuel that can be produced using curtailed renewable energy, stored and then used on board a zero-emission vessel with fresh water as the only by-product.Job Purpose:Support the production plan, ensuring delivery of production to set timescales/department targets and to quality standards.Duties:* Ensure workshop compliance with safety procedures and quality standards* Monitor project execution and performance against key measures including safety, quality and on time delivery* Plan and project manpower requirements to support production program management activities * Develop daily work assignments and expectations for production workforce* Review and document employee performance and absenteeism* Monitor trade/ shop rework trends and implement corrective action * Manage workforce performance and compliance to company rules; Implements corrective action, conflict management, and disciplinary action when necessary* Liaise with Human Resource department / training department to ensure that pipefitters and welders are qualified to perform their work* Liaise with planning department and drawing office for spool fabrication scheduling and ultimately responsible for job scheduling * Co-ordinate and interface between fabrication & installation and pre-fabrication activities * Develop and implement engineering reports * Develop and implement management systems, trackers and construction scope including man-hours; * Ensuring vendor and contractor work is managed to appropriate standards and plans; * Management of sub-contractors* Track variations* Internal auditing to ISO-9001-2015 standardKnowledge and Skills Required:* Proven in-depth knowledge in all facets of pipe installation activities. * Effective leadership, communication, team-building skills and proven ability in people environment including a diverse workforce* Ability to read and understand piping schematics and drawings * Computer literate in Word, Excel & Power Point* Communication skills* Team work* Applying Professional standards * Service Delivery* Planning and OrganizingQualifications:* Educated to City & Guilds or HNC level in engineering practisesExperience:* Must be a highly qualified skilled tradesman relevant to pipe shop activities with at least 2 years supervisory experience.* Proven experience in workshop supervision environment This is an ongoing contractAdvantage Resourcing is a service driven recruitment consultancy.
