Project Procurement SpecialistSF31161Devonport, PlymouthAbout the roleWere looking for a Project Procurement Specialist to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. Were a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security. The Submarine Supply Chain Team forms part of the Procurement and Supply Chain function in Naval Nuclear. Based in Submarines, the team manages the Submarine Supply Chain requirements including material procurement, equipment overhaul and repair to ensure availability to support the Submarine programmes. Reporting to the Project Procurement Manager the Project Procurement Specialist will have accountability, within a defined scope of materials and/or subcontract services, for the Submarine Supply chain design, execution, and performance for a Business Units project(s). You will also establish project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline, provide design and engagement of a supply chain that meets project requirements and support the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performanceWhat do I need to do the roleThe post would suit someone seeking a career within Procurement and Supply Chain in a project facing role. Ideally, you will be an experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and relevant experience in Sourcing & Procurement. We would also like you to hold all or most of the following: • Experience of working in complex project environment.• Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.• High quality communication ability, both written and orally.• Understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to manage subcontract terms including flow-down terms from customer contracts. What else do I need to know•The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
